. Write to definition of climatology.
Answer - According to Critchfield - Climate science is studies of the nature of climate, spatial and temporal differences, environmental elements and relationships to human actions.
. What is difference between climate and weather.
Ans. - 1. Atmospheric conditions on a region at some point of time are called the weather of that region. For example, the morning season, the afternoon season, the evening season, etc. The long-term average of a local weather is called the climate of that place. Example: India has a monsoon climate.
2. The weather changes according to the day, week, month and season. Climate does not change in the short term of an area.
3. Changes in the temperature and humidity characteristics of the air cause changes in the weather. This type of change does not happen in the short term in the climate.
4. Weather is the differentiation of climate whereas climate is the integration of weather.
प्रश्न 1. - जलवायु विज्ञान की परिभाषा लिखिये।
उत्तर – क्रिचफील्ड के अनुसार – जलवायु
विज्ञान में जलवायु की प्रकृति, स्थानिक व सामयिक भिन्नता, पर्यावरणीय तत्व एवं
मानवीय क्रियाओं से सम्बन्धों का अध्ययन किया जाता है।

प्रश्न 2. जलवायु और मौसम में अन्तर लिखिये।
उत्तर – 1. किसी समय पर किसी क्षेत्र पर
वायुमण्डमलीय दशाओं को उस क्षेत्र का मौसम
कहते हैं। जैसे’- प्रात:काल का मौसम, दोपहर का मौसम, सांयकाल का मौसम आदि।
किसी स्थान के मौसम की दीर्घकालीन औसत को उस स्थान की जलवायु कहते हैं। उदाहरण -
भारत की जलवायु मानसूनी है।
2. दिन, सप्ताह, माह और ऋतु के अनुसार मौसम में परिवर्तन हो जाता है। किसी
क्षेत्र के लघु काल में जलवायु में परिवर्तन नहीं होता है।
3. वायु के तापमान और
आर्द्रता सम्बन्धी लक्षणों में परिवर्तन से मौसम में परिवर्तन हो जाता है।
जलवायु में लघु काल में इस प्रकार का परिवर्तन नहीं होता है।
4. मौसम जलवायु का विभेदीकरण
है जबकि जलवायु मौसम का एकीकरण है।
